The BSCDA F2 Drivers Committee welcomes the positive points announced by Brisca F2 in its latest press release on 16th March 2010.
Unfortunately for Brisca F2, the Drivers Committee supports its Chairman, and feels that the only way that his position can be determined is by democratic vote, with the next election normally being scheduled for November 2010.
The wording of the 2010 licence application form was changed by BriSCA, and now makes no reference to drivers becoming members of the BSCDA.
As a result of this, we find ourselves in a state of limbo, as officially we have no members to represent.
Until such time that this matter is rectified, the current BSCDA is unable to function as a body, and has no alternative but to enter into a period of dormancy, and will not therefore, participate in any matter concerning Formula 2 Stockcars.
12/03/10 The drivers commitee appreciate the support that has been shown by some drivers regarding the recent dispute with BriscaF2.
Discussion has taken place regarding the validity of the continuance of the drivers commitee, but owing to the fact that 2 commitee members were unable to be present, and bearing in mind the importance of this, the matter will be discussed at a further time when all members can be present. It is hoped that this will be within a week.
The commitee wish to reiterate that the same choice still applies to drivers whether to race or not.

Official statement by the BSCDA Drivers Committee.
A meeting was held yesterday with BriSCA F2, which was attended by four BSCDA representatives and four promoters. The BSCDA had agreed to hold the meeting without their Chairman, following information being received from BriSCA F2, which stated that they would not agree to meet if the BSCDA Chairman was to be present. After a full consultation with the Chairman, who himself had suggested that it would be in the drivers best interests for the BSCDA to accept this, they agreed to the request.
In spite of numerous topics being discussed at length during the meeting, which at first gave the impression that there was a genuine intention on the part of BriSCA to formulate an agreement, when it actually came down to it, there was an obvious reluctance on their part, to commit themselves to anything.
On being pressed by the BSCDA members, BriSCA made it abundantly clear, that they were not willing to agree to anything with the BSCDA whilst their Chairman was in place. This in turn raised the obvious question from the BSCDA members, of what exactly would they agree to if the Chairman were to relinquish the position. Unfortunately, BriSCA would not give any undertaking to agree to anything now or in the future, even if this were to happen. Although they did state that they were keen to retain the BSCDA, and that it had a “significant” part to play, BriSCA were unable to say exactly what its function would be, only that it would have no “official” part to play in the running of the sport. Although there would still be meetings between the two, these would be of a “much less formal nature”, in other words, the BSCDA would have no say whatsoever.
It is obvious to the BSCDA, that there will be massive problems regarding Technical Scrutineering owing to the fact that Ian Gardiner will not be performing this role, yet BriSCA have no apparent solution to this.
As far as we, the BSCDA Drivers Committee are concerned, we have explored every avenue possible to find a resolution to the current problems, but unfortunately we have been unable to do so. We therefore feel that the time has come for the drivers to stand up for themselves and refuse to be dominated by BriSCA in this way, and should reject the statement made by them on 17th November 2009.
Following the issuing of that statement, all drivers were consulted and were asked to pledge support to the BSCDA if it became necessary, 348 of you pledged that support. It was pointed out at the time, that this could result in drivers being requested to withdraw from racing, if that was seen as being the only course of action left open once all other avenues had been explored. That time has now come. It is extremely sad that we have come to this, but you must remember that this is none of your doing, BriSCA decided to issue the statement without consulting either you or your representatives, all you are doing here is fighting for what you already have, fighting to retain a say in your sport, fighting to have a representation.
The choice is yours, if you race, you accept the statement from BriSCA, but you will be at the mercy of the promoters to do with you as they will. It will also mean the end of the BSCDA, regardless of what you are told by others. If you do not race, you will force the issue back to the table, but with much more bargaining power than previous, and a greater likelihood of success. There will be people that will issue all kinds of threats to you should you decide to take this action, but this is to be expected. They will try to convince you that your attempts are futile and that they will result in failure, there is the possibility that they could be right, but at least you will have put up a fight and not simply rolled over and died.
All drivers that intend to race this weekend, need to think long and hard about the long term effects this will have. If any of you know a Saloon Stox driver, perhaps you should have a word with them, we are sure that they will inform you of the kind of things that can happen once you are under the sole control of the promoters.

Dear Carlton,
BriSCA F2 promoters will always be prepared to meet with active drivers who are dedicated to the future of BriSCA F2 Stock Car Racing.
Unfortunately, after many years of fine stewardship of the BSCDA F2 from the likes of former Chairmen such as Brian Smith and Bill Batten, the 2009 season will be associated with a distinct change in stance and attitude from the BSCDA F2. Much of this hostility and mistrust and has been brought about by the current Chairman of the BSCDA F2, and in turn, that has contributed to BriSCA F2 pursuing a course of restructuring and streamlining.
Since the change in the organisation of BriSCA F2, the BSCDA F2 Chairman has published untrue, misleading and damaging statements on a public internet forum, and has actively discouraged drivers from licensing for the new season. BriSCA F2 promoters therefore feel it inappropriate to enter into further discussion with a Chairman who can act so irresponsibly and with a willingness to disrupt.
It is regrettable that the members of the BSCDA F2 committee who were invited, did not attend the BriSCA F2 Forum last week, which was a very productive meeting for all sides of the sport.
Whilst the Chairman of the BSCDA F2 is at large, and is continuing to use a public internet forum (The Home of BriSCA F2 Supporters) to encourage the disruption of the new season, BriSCA F2 promoters do not see the merit in a further meeting at the present time.
Yours faithfully
Crispen Rosevear (Chairman Brisca F2)
